Whitlam soon for sale

Suburban Land Agency chief executive John Dietz has announced that the next major single-dwelling residential release would be in Whitlam where 600 blocks will hit the market.  It will be the first blocks on offer for the suburb which was gazetted in 2017 and named after former prime minister Gough Whitlam.  (Canberra Times, November 21)

Whitlam is located behind Hawker on the other side of William Hovell Drive, between the Cotter Road and Kama Nature Reserve.

Community housing for Scullin

Blocks 20 and 24 of Section 43 on Frewin Place, Scullin are being investigated for their suitability for a community housing provider to develop and use for community housing.  These blocks are the site of the former Scullin Community Health Centre which was occupied by Alzheimer’s Australia over recent years.  Humpy Hall (Block 13), the Cerebral Palsy Alliance (Block 22) and the Buddhist temple (Block 28) will remain.
